Position Summary : The Division of ContinuingProfessional Development (CPD) continually strives to meet itsmission of providing high quality professional developmentopportunities for physicians and other healthcare professionalsbased on identified needs and the latest scientific and medicaldevelopments that will increase competence, enhance performance inpractice and lead to improved healthcare for patients.
Reporting tothe Director, Medical Education and CPD, the Assistant Director,Continuing Professional Development develops and directs theoverall educational program in alignment with thedivision’s mission and strategic plan and is responsiblefor the successful achievement of certification for physicians inthe region in collaboration with local and international bodies.
JobResponsibilities : Responsible for reviewing and evaluating ongoingprograms.Manages daily operational activities, ensuring compliancewith WCM-Q policies & procedures, accreditation(Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)& Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP)criteria, standards & policies.
Oversees development andmaintenance of all necessary documentation, including policy andprocedure manuals, to meet accreditation, funding, and otherreporting requirements.
Maintains accreditations and seekscommendation.Manages and leads needs assessments and gap analyses,applying principles of adult education to program design, anddeveloping educational outcome measurement tools andprocesses.
Collaborates with SMEs, fostering positive relationshipswith stakeholders, including staff & consultants, toadvance long-term strategies of WCM-Q’s high-qualitycontinuing education program in compliance with ACCME &QCHP standards & requirements.
Develops and drives marketingstrategy for CPD activities.Manages successful delivery of CME / CPDactivities that include : establishing learning objectives,selecting appropriate content and interactive learning formats andincorporating desirable physician attributes.
Manages successfuldelivery of CME / CPD activities that include : identifying andresolving potential conflicts of interest, and evaluatingactivities to foster changes in learner’s competence,performance and / or patient outcomes.
Develops plan to conduct anoverall CME / CPD program analysis which identifies, plans andimplements the needed or desired changes in the overall programthat are required to improve on the ability to meet the CPDmission.
Publishes results of education research in peer-reviewedjournals and presents at national and internationalconferences.Provides leadership in all phases of the development ofcontinuing medical education and actively communicates with variouscommittees to recommend related policies.
Supports the preparationof the annual capital, operating and manning budget and isresponsible for oversight of the financial operations of thedivision.
Keeps abreast of current developments & bestpractices in continuing education program development &delivery &incorporates new developments in the fields ofcontinuing education & professional development.
Prepareswritten reports / presentations and effectively delivers toCommittees and Boards detailed strategy, plans, and outcomes.
reviews andapproves staff leave requests.Provides administrative leadershipand oversight for non-academic staff and provides advice onworkflow for efficient and effective service and in the applicationof HR and fiscal policies and procedures to ensure sound businesspractice.
