We're recruiting an experienced Strategy consultant for a Head of Strategy Execution position at a major bank based in Doha, Qatar.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall strategy execution of international subsidiaries to ensure alignment with the group's long term strategy goals and associated key strategic initiatives, managing and liaising with strategy and execution teams to formulate the annual Business Plan, CapEx plan, Performance Management process as well as the PMO.
The ideal candidate will come from a project management background in a Big 4 consultancy with extensive experience working front office in the banking industry.
Primary Responsibilities Manage the development subsidiaries annual Business Plan and CapEx plan ensuring alignment with Group’s long term strategy goals and associated key strategic initiatives Manage the development, reporting and review of subsidiaries Performance Management approach and process.
This entails definition of KPIs across balanced scorecard dimensions, understanding the needs and drivers of each Deliver quarterly performance management update of subsidiaries while providing perspective and value-
adding insight of the performance and execution of strategy Define, monitor and ensure execution of all subsidiaries strategic projects portfolio (PMO) Ensure full alignment of Business Plan, CapEx plan, Performance Management and PMO methodology, process, schedule and tools across subsidiaries Lead, manage and professionally develop the strategy execution teams in the subsidiaries Align the annual Business Plan, CapEx plan and Performance Management of international subsidiaries with the bank’s strategic objectives Develop all business, support and control divisions’ business plans and CapEx plans on an annual basis in close alignment with the subsidiaries Coordinate and align with the subsidiaries with respect to input for business and CapEx planning and performance management related matters Manage the portfolio of strategic projects (PMO) to pro-
actively flag issues / risks and escalate as necessary to Executive Management Develop all PMO and performance management related information on a regular basis to the Executive Management and the Board for regular update, performance monitoring, quality assessment and decision making Provide guidance on the planning, prioritization and definition of business plans, performance management and projects across subsidiaries based on QNB’s overall strategy, and maintain a forward looking view / plan throughout the year Manage business plans and CapEx plans for all subsidiaries Manage alignment and consistency of subsidiaries business plans and CapEx plans with the subsidiary strategy and ensure alignment with QNB Group’s strategy Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or related subject Extensive senior-
level experience within the banking or financial services industry, with exposure to front office areas Previous experience in a leading role for strategy execution Previous experience in a big 4 conultancy, ideally within the banking area Diverse business and / or functional experience Experience with performance management, balanced scorecard approach and management of information systems (MIS) Deep understanding and knowledge of the activities and functions of the various business and support divisions in a financial institution Strongly developed analytical, numerical, evaluation and planning skills Strong management skills and ability to build and maintain a positive team culture Ability to work in a relatively unstructured, project-
based and multicultural environment Possess a thorough understanding of project management and corporate planning theory and practice Possess a strategic view to ensure alignment of priorities across subsidiaries Past working experience in the Middle East would be a distinct advantage Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (and Arabic as an asset)
