Job Summary

The Director of Procurement will manage the requirements of Hilton's newest resort and entertainment complex in Qatar. The facilities consist of a hotel, villas, waterpark, marina, sports and entertainment facilities and multiple Food & Beverage outlets.

The resort's Purchasing Teams report to this Director role. The resort is scheduled to open in 2020 and can be found on Google and YouTube under its working title 'Salwa Beach Resort'.. .

What will I be doing?

As a Director of Procurement, you will supervise the Purchasing Department in its efforts to manage the purchase of all the goods and equipment that the Resort requires.

Specifically, a Director of Procurement will perform the following tasks to the highest standards :

  • Establish the pre-opening OS&E and FF&E budgets and lists for all of the resort's facilities
  • Liaise with the appointed procurement companies on such pre-opening purchases, sampling and importation procedures
  • Hire the resort's purchasing teams
  • Establish the resort's purchasing procedures
  • Purchase the right goods and materials at the right price, at the required quality, and in the right volume to ensure a cost-
  • effective purchasing model within the Resort

  • Report regularly to understand goods requirements and allow more effective future purchasing
  • Calculate and report on the monthly savings from cost effective purchasing
  • Work with the resort's senior leaders and the hotel management to improve the purchasing process to help reduce waste and improve profitability

  • Previous experience working successfully in a Purchasing capacity
  • Experience in building and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers
  • Experience in increasing profitability through successful implementation of a strategic approach to purchasing
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills
