Role Objective

The Investment Fund Manager will research investment ideas / markets, and perform investment / financial planning, asset allocation for the clients, as applicable.

The incumbent will perform financial, commercial, risk, tax and legal due diligence, in close coordination with the internal / external stakeholders, and manage and monitor the client portfolio, as per financial objectives and investment strategies.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities


  • Assist in the design, development and implementation of investment fund strategies based on market and portfolio analysis.
  • Update self on the regulatory requirements / changes set by QCB and other relevant government bodies, and, recommend adequate changes in the section, including but not limited to staffing of employees, deliverables etc.
  • Develop and maintain robust working relationships with internal / external stakeholders (including banks and financial institutions) to facilitate functional / operational / strategic needs.
  • Assist in the formulation of, and ensure that the deliverables are within agreed SLAs and that timely, accurate and complete analysis / reports are provided in a timely manner to the respective internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain highest standards of confidentiality, professional conduct, ethics and integrity in the provision of services in the section.

  • Procure, and manage and rearrange the investment portfolios of HNI or UHNWI and Private Banking Individuals for their region / industry / asset class centric investments.
  • Stay abreast of current economic and investment events, identify possible implications, and make appropriate investment recommendations, in close coordination with the internal teams.
  • Contribute towards commercial and financial due diligence, recommending on the credentials of new investment prospects in existing and targeted markets and provide investment proposals for the Investment Committee.
  • Administer and monitor for evaluation purpose on existing investments and finalize on appropriate course of action, in close coordination with the Department Head Investments
  • Review the industry and market research reports to analyze and decide upon potential fund investment opportunities, in line with Doha Bank’s investment strategy.
  • Develop and drive investment & asset allocation strategy for the clients, based on extensive research and insightful economic & financial analysis.
  • Establish and administer collaborative partnerships with market research agencies, and, supervise the research process and follow up on results, if needed.
  • Partner with the respective internal departments and compliance teams in delivering the final investment product proposals to the clients.
  • Monitor and provide prompt support to the clients in providing investment analysis across all asset classes, including equity, fixed income, commodities and foreign exchange.
  • Assess client investment requirements to determine whether market / economic changes, or performance of the portfolio requires a reassessment.
  • Recommend changes needed to client portfolios in line with their financial objectives, including but not limited to cash management, interest rates etc.
  • in close coordination with the T & I team.

  • Ensure that necessary accounting / administration information is provided to the internal teams in the light of preparation of the accounts, in a timely manner.
  • Develop, evaluate and review deal-flow and project pipeline against investment strategy, risk budget and other investment criteria on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal and timely investment and performance.
  • Prospect, obtain and maintain assigned targets in terms of volume of clients, and market / industry or asset class.
  • Contribute towards, the development and delivery of product documentation, and related reference / marketing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that timely, accurate and complete investment performance reports / summaries / analysis are provided in a timely manner to the respective external / internal stakeholders.
  • Gather and share knowledge to the team, and / or department on worldwide best market practices and, global / local trends in the targeted sectors.
  • Promptly respond to the escalated queries raised by the respective stakeholders.
  • Adhere to / follow audit, compliance and procedural control measures set by the management.
  • Educational Qualifications

    University graduate with a degree in Accounting or Business or Banking or Finance or Economics or any other related discipline.

  • Master’s degree in Management any other related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • Experience

  • 13 - 15 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Portfolio management experience with High Net worth, Ultra High Net worth, Private Banking clients.
  • Considerable experience in handling an investment advisory role
