Primary Objectives / Responsibilities

To provide accurate cost forecasts to Project Management and Customer’s based on an analysis of the definition of the project scope, the cost budgets, and actual commitments and expenditures to date.

Responsible in providing information as a support to the Customer’s decision making process with respect to the options which could be followed if corrective cost control action is required.

Process and compiles weekly / monthly reports necessary for the control and maintenance of the reimbursable and cost management systems, in accordance with established procedures to ensure the achievement of Cost Control Group KPI’s.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Provide effective budget control by the creation of a WBS / CBS as per the Worley procedures (EMS / WPMP) and assigning budgets to enable the base to be developed against which all costs will be measured.
  • Provide effective commitment control by allocating these against the published WBS / CBS to ensure that sufficient funds are available.
  • Provide effective FAC service provision by comparing the commitments to the budgets and assigning additional anticipated costs in order to determine what the final costs will be.
  • Provide effective Change Management by comparing the current scope / costs to the original scope and budgets.
  • Provide effective cost accounting control by ensuring that invoiced amounts do not exceed committed costs.
  • Develop and maintain a cost conscious environment within the Group.
  • Assist with other reasonable requests made by the Project Controls Team Lead in support of the Project Controls function within the Worley’s Integrated Services Contract.
  • Essential Skills and Experience

  • Education : Full-time Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Oil & Gas Industry, of which 4 years must be in Lead roles managing a team of Cost Engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Brown Field and related project delivery, with experience in Brown Field O&G Project Delivery as an Umbrella Contract Senior Cost Engineer.
  • Experience in cost control, cost estimating, project scheduling and risk management with associated alignment of these disciplines.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural / ethnic arena.
