Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established byEmiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases of the oiland gas industry in the State of Qatar.
The principal activities of QP, its subsidiaries and joint ventures arethe exploration, production, local and international sale of crude oil,natural gas and gas liquids, refined products, synthetic fuels,petrochemicals, fuel additives, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas(LNG), steel and aluminium.

The operations and activities of QP and its affiliates are conducted atvarious onshore locations, including Doha, Dukhan and the Mesaieed andRas Laffan Industrial Cities, as well as offshore areas, including HalulIsland, offshore production stations, drilling platforms and the NorthField.

Primary purpose of job
To manage and be responsible for the provision of all sufficient offshore resources (vessels, & support personnel) enabling QP to fully meet the needs for Offshore Marine Operations, sea transport and supply boat scheduling.
To organize and oversee rig moves, tanker operations, Marine related in-field safety equipment, SBM Maintenance, emergency contingency management and training and to coordinate and offer marine support to all joint ventures.
Responsible for the Contracts (Tender preparation, contract award and contract management) of around 25 sea going vessels, coordinating with several contractor agencies, management and supervisory personnel ensuring a safe and efficient operation.
To oversee studies for improving marine services including strategies, organization structure, policies, procedures, etc.
Experience & Skills
20 years experience in the Marine industry including 10 years in Offshore Marine activities in the Oil & Gas sector including oil Terminal and Tanker operations.
A sound knowledge of International Marine Regulations including, Classification Society, Flag state requirements, ISPS, Harbour operations, Rig moving, Pilotage, SBM Maintenance and Diving operations.
Membership of a professional related organization is encouraged as the position requires keeping updated in Industry changes.
Relevant Pollution, Safety and Safety management courses are recommended. Have worked with ISO9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and other Management Systems (ISM).
To be able to compile, award and manage the different Marine Contracts. Able to liaise with senior Management from the Marine Contractors and Joint Venture Companies.
Management qualifications are recommended as the position requires good leadership and decision making skills whilst working independently
Master Mariner unlimited or Foreign Going Certificate of Competency Class 1 with Tanker endorsement issued by or equivalent to United Kingdom Department of Transport together with HND or equivalent in Nautical Sciences or Bus. Management.
