Job Description

  • MEP Supervisor has to review plans andspecification according to plan.
  • MEPSupervisor has to manage to oversee the work of subordinate staffcontact architects or workers.
  • MEPSupervisor has to prepare plans, details, specified and costestimated of plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning andgeneral piping system.
  • MEP Supervisor has toprovide technical advice to staff designer, inspector andcontracting service provider, regarding installation andmaintenance of MEP System.
  • You must analyzemechanical, Electrical and Plumbing problems and formulatesolutions.
  • MEP Supervisor has to identifyproblems in design, plan, manage and deliver multipleprojects.
  • MEP Supervisor has to plan,organize the review and evaluate the work of consultant,contractor, and others. MEP Supervisor has to knowledge of MSOffice, AutoCAD and Project management software.
  • MEP Supervisor has to prepare and deliver effective oralpresentation whenever required.
  • Advise theMEP MANAGER of any technical aspects of the mechanical servicesthat may affect construction progress, e.g. quality or snag.
  • Continually review the contractor’sconstruction schedule during the progress of site works withregards to MEP services and report to the Project Director on thesame.
  • Manage the day to day work of the MEPteam.
  • In conjunction with the documentcontroller, ensure that the filing / logging of the MEP documentationis undertaken in line with the project handbook and continuallymonitor the same.
  • Advise on all issuesregarding LEED and ensure that the appropriate documentation andinformation is provided to the appropriate authorities to obtainthe LEED standard required on the project.
  • Take part in risk workshops and report any risks associated withMEP installations or general project to the Project Director.
  • Review Contractor’s installation methodstatements.
  • Review Contractor’sshop drawings against the design tender drawings for compliancewith the design intent and return to MEP Manager with appropriatecomments / approval within the specified contractual period (normally10 working days).
  • Reviewcontractor’s mechanical shop drawing in conjunction withthe structural and electrical Supervisor s to ensure Supervisingco-ordination and advise the MEP Manager accordingly.
  • Where required prepare technical clarifications to thetendered design to suit specific on-site construction andco-ordination issues.
  • ReviewContractor’s mechanical services material proposalsagainst specified technical performance requirements and advise theProject Director on the appropriateness of the proposals.
  • Review Contractor’s proposedsubcontractor(s) associated with the Supervising works from atechnical standpoint.
  • Undertake generalproject site observation / inspection of the mechanical servicesworks for Contractor’s adherence to the approved shopdrawings and Consultant’s specification, good workingpractices, and construction schedule.
  • Monitor and promote health and safety on the site. Record andreport any breaches to the Project Manager. If required stop theconstruction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
  • Be available to undertake off-site inspections ofproposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by theMEP Manager.
  • Undertake a prior review of theContractor’s proposed mechanical system testing &commissioning methods and schedule.
  • Witnesson-site piped system pressure test, air conditioning duct leakagetesting and other testing that may be required during the first fixworks and advise the Project Director accordingly.
  • On a spot basis, witness mechanical system final testingand commissioning.
  • Review and comment onContractor’s testing and commissioning results and advisethe Project Director accordingly.
  • Maintainan on-going list of mechanical services defects forcontractor’s remedial action.
  • Undertake final project snagging and prepare a list of defects forContractor’s action.
  • Attendproject, site progress and any mechanical services relatedtechnical meetings as directed by the project manager.
  • Prepare draft site / Supervisor ’s instructions,relating to the building mechanical services, as required and issueto the MEP Manager.
  • Provide advice to theMEP Manager in regard to any mechanical services related tovariable costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during thecourse of the works.
  • Review and comment onthe Contractor’s Operation and Maintenancemanuals.
  • Skills

  • Mechanical or Electrical University degree in Engineering
  • Working knowledge of plans, prints, specifications, and schematicsassociated with trade
  • At least years of construction experience with working knowledge ofmechanical, electrical and plumbing ( in Mall ispreferable)
  • Construction procedures and practices
  • Computer literate
  • Possess excellent communication and organizationalskills
