Primary purpose of job
As a Professional Development Advisor, you will work with line managers to coordinate and steward professional development processes such as job families and career paths, competency definitions, learning solutions, assessment and development plans in order to contribute to raising the technical capability of employees in the organisation.
The professional development section within Human Capital is a new team and the environment for the job families is that of a start-
up.You will be responsible for translation of position requirements into competency frameworks, as well as project management for a working team to build competency frameworks for four levels of proficiency.
You will also work with internal learning consultants to design a curriculum for competency development. You will coach and support line managers to create a learning culture and high performance organization.
You are an experienced and dynamic professional with leadership presence and a deep desire to make a difference. You are able to provide multiple examples of where you have effectively helped to develop professional or technical capability within an organization.
People see you as a collaborative, trustworthy, knowledgeable person with high integrity and a results orientation. You have a reputation for working on complex projects and establishing a plan to get things done.

Experience & Skills
You have a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience with contributions to talent management and organizational change initiatives, either as an internal or external consultant or as a technical specialist.
You have worked in several different types of organization, including multinationals, and preferably in different countries.
Experience working across cultures and sectors, as well as with multinational and multigenerational teams, has given you a pragmatic understanding of system dynamics and leveraging diversity as a strength.
You have an appreciation of the Middle East business cultures.You have made a commitment to your own professional development over your career, adding highly relevant qualifications and certifications in order to meet client needs.
You maintain memberships of professional associations. We expect you to have an undergraduate degree and preferably a specialized postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
Agile project management skills suited to complex environments, consulting and facilitation capability, as well as outstanding written and spoken English are basic requirements for membership within this team.
Bachelors degree in a related area of the business. 10 years minimum experience with a preference for the oil and gas industry.
