Has a clear understanding of theanesthetic agents and medications used.
Provide direct and indirect patient care using thenursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patientrequirements as directed by the physician.
Demonstrate continued competence in all facets ofambulatory surgery.
Accurately and thoroughlycompletes and reviews the pre-operative assessment prior toprocedure time.
Monitors vital signs andreports initial and any abnormalities toAnesthesiologist.
Assesses patient'srespiratory, cardiovascular, circulatory, and neurologicalstatus.
Assessing fluid administration siteand appropriate rate.
Administers medicationssafely and accurately.
Executesphysician's orders specified while in unit in a timelymanner.
Implements patient comfort measures asappropriate (medication for pain and nausea & vomiting,position changes, and temperature control).
Documents all observations and nursing care providedaccurately and thoroughly on the appropriate forms.
Educates patient and family on post-operativeinstructions.
Discharges patient according tophysician's orders, patient's condition, andstandards of care.
