Qatar Aluminium Ltd, Qatalum, is a 50 / 50 Joint Venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Hydro. When the plant comes in operation in late 2009 it will be one of the largest and most competitive primary aluminium plants in the world, with a production capacity of 585.
000 MT per year. The smelter-, casthouse-, carbon- and power plant will employ between 1100 - 1200 people.
The plant is located in Mesaieed in Qatar, some 40 kilometers from the capital Doha which is growing into a modern business centre and busy air traffic hub for the region.
Areas of responsibility / Role
Supervises all Accounting functions, ensuring that group accounts are correctly reconciled against books.
Handle day to day Accounting work and prepare the monthly yearly financial statements. Checks and ensures the monthly salary payroll and benefits are in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
Verify invoices and ensures fixed assets register are accurate and monthly depreciation report generated.
Manages General Ledger function, ensuring preparation and accurate recording of all accounting entries including subsidiary ledgers and financial statement meet accounting and other regulatory standard requirements.
Constant review of Contractor accounts and transactions to ensure contractor obligations are observed and Company interest protected.'
Bachelor s degree in Accounting from a reputed University. CA / CPA / ACCA Preferred. Exposure to IFRS is essential, whereas exposure to ERP, SAP is preferred.
5 to 7 years working experience in corporate accounting, preferably in a large manufacturing company.
Good interpersonal and communication skills and fluency in English required. Must be capable of delivering results under tight reporting dead lines.
