Rixos Qetaifan Island North

Opening mid-2022, Rixos Doha Qetaifan will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sq m of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park and a waterpark.

The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Slated to make its debut right before the World Cup, Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination.

One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower, the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres in height.

Cluster PR and Communication Manager

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for the waterpark, hotel, beach club and retail area in order to attract potential guests and retain existing ones as well as management of collateral, special events / promotions, social media and advertising.

  • What you will be doing :

    PR & Communications

  • Create a full-year PR strategy for the complex including executing PR activities, initiatives and events to drive top-tier press coverage in local, regional and international media.
  • Develop ideas and drive press coverage for newsworthy campaigns.
  • Establish relevant partnerships and manage its execution for the complex that will help create newsworthy stories and enhance brand awareness.
  • Create press-worthy angles for the complex in key markets and work with MD, marketing team and relevant stakeholders to ensure that the PR activity is aligned with the overall complex strategy plan.
  • Be the main point of contact for media enquiries.
  • Respond in a timely manner and accurately to any journalist / influencer enquiries including accommodation requests, information, quotes, etc.
  • with strong focus on top-tier media.

  • Appoint and / or manage, when needed, a PR agency / agencies on a day-by-day basis ensuring the relevant exposure is achieved in key markets.
  • Maintain a database of key media contacts in local, regional and international market.
  • Form strong relationships with top-tier travel / trade, lifestyle, business, and consumer press and bloggers / influencers in relevant markets.
  • Secure regular meetings / reviews with editors / influencers to ensure that the complex remains top of mind.
  • Use social media channels to engage with journalists in local market ( monitor blogs / Twitter feeds of top-tier media for feature story opportunities and pitch media online when relevant).
  • Act as main contact for crisis / issues communications for the complex, liaising directly with the regional team (gather facts, creation of reactive media statements, field incoming media requests).
  • Provide crisis management support and guidance to different stakeholders.
  • Work with appointed PR agency on a cohesive PR plan for key markets.
  • Manage the development, approvals and readiness of press kit materials, including press releases, fact sheets, bios, photography, videos, etc. for the complex.
  • Prepare briefing materials and messaging / positioning documents for MD or relevant stakeholders in preparation for interviews.
  • Organize and host inbound international media groups and individual visits to hotel.
  • Execute press site inspections for the complex.
  • Create CSR activities for the complex.
  • Monitor, report and communicate on a monthly basis the results of PR campaigns.
  • Develop Awards submission strategy, coordinate information gathering and provide entry writing support.
  • Provide input and copywriting assistance on all marketing collaterals & promotional materials when needed (printed and digital).
  • Stablish a fruitful relationship with key stakeholders at a country level, including but not limited : National Tourism Council, Qatar Airways, Supreme Committee.
  • Manages the budgets for PR campaigns in collaboration with complex DOM.
  • Team Management

  • Experience on managing a PR agency
  • Interview, select and recruit team members
  • Identify and develop team members with potential
  • Conduct performance review with the team
  • Constantly monitor team members’ appearance, attitude and degree of professionalism
  • Develop, conduct and maintain all staff training programs for team members, focusing on their development needs, providing them with new skills to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
  • Be aware of the waterpark fire & life safety / emergency procedures
  • Perform other reasonable duties
  • Safety, Quality & Environment Responsibilities

  • Know and applies Accor APACHE security and evacuation procedures (in case of fire, etc.)
  • Ensures the safety of the people and property within the office.
  • Applies the ISO 9001 / 14001 quality certification requirements that impact his / her role.
  • Adhere and support Accor’s commitments to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc.) as well as Accor’s Planet 21 Charter and Commitments as applicable to the role.
  • Monitor and oversight of Quality performances of your respective departments and teams following set annual objectives.
  • Main Complexity / Critical issues in the Job

    Allocate company resources to maximize collaboration, efficiency and creativity in the building and maintenance of consistent branding or corporate identity across marketing and public relations channels.

    Your experience and skills include :

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Presentation skills required
  • Water Park experience is a plus
