Emergency Vehicle Technician III (EVT III / EVM Lead)trained specifically to maintain and repair fire fighting equipmentand emergency vehicles, including fire engines, tenders, tankers,rescue, foam systems, air compressor, dry chemical systems, hazmatresponse vehicles, and utility vehicles.
Coordinates and performshighly skilled mechanics work. Maintains various types ofemergency and fleet vehicles to includeequipment.
The EVT will validate any work performed by anysubcontractor to ensure it meets NFPA Standards as applicable.Whenwork on Fire & Emergency Response vehicles is notrequired.
MAJOR JOBACTIVITIES :
Diagnoses and repairs complex mechanical issues.
Performs preventative maintenancework.
Participates inordering fleet parts.
Prepares various types of fleet maintenance records anddocumentation.
Assists inmaintaining shop facilities and equipment.
Performs other mechanical relatedduties.
Provides customersupport and quality assurance.
Maintains service logs and records of fire truckapparatuses.
Keeps toolsequipment and work area clean organized and in good workingcondition.
Provides 24 / 7on-call fleet maintenance support for assigned shift.
Maintains operational equipmentassets.
Lead the workeffort, train and mentor suborbinate EVT personnel.
