DohaAbout the roleUnder the direction of Manager ATM, your role will be to manage a team of technically qualified, motivated subject matter experts in the area of overflight permissions and airspace reservations.
Among other responsibilities, you will ensure timely preparation and management of the Overflight Permissions for both scheduled and non-scheduled flights within QR Route network in accordance with Government Civil Aviation Authority requirements.
You will ensure timely reservation of airspace(s) by coordinating with local ATC to facilitate base training and test flights.
You will ensure flight schedule changes are monitored by team and appropriate actions are taken to determine overflight permission requirement, and ensure permits are obtained from Government agencies taking into account preferences for flight and fuel efficiencies.
You will also ensure necessary support is provided by the team to IOC and Flight Dispatch to ensure smooth operations of delayed flights, AOG and any other contingency situations.
You will coordinate with Schedule Planning, Cargo Route Management, Route Study teams and others to ensure efficient management of the overflight permissions / landing permissions.
You will establish and maintain working relationships with Civil Aviation Authorities to ensure challenges related to securing overflight permissions are addressed.
You will develop and maintain currency of the content of the Overflight permissions procedures within ATM Procedure Manual.
You will ensure company flight planning system reflects the latest and valid overflight permissions. You will develop and maintain currency of all in-house tools used in the management of the overflight permissions.
Your scope of work also include training and development of staff. Experience of leading, managing, inspiring and engaging a multi-cultural workforce is very essential for this role.
You will be required to perform other departmental duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
About YouTo be considered for this role, ideally you should be educated to Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with at least 7 years of experience with an Airline Flight Operations or Government Organization, directly engaged with Overflight Permission activities.
You should be able to work under pressure and able to deliver tasks within tight deadlines whilst maintaining confidentiality.
Excellent eye for detail & communication skills in spoken / written English is an essential requirement of the job.A proven influential and consultative approach, being solution focused and strong negotiation skills are paramount.
Proficiency with MS Office applications and international Flight planning knowledge is essential.
