What we want

  • The Creative Manager in the office of Marketing and Communications, is responsible for serving as the creative manager for all of the materials the office produces, printed or digital;
  • providing a cohesive creative and visual direction for all deliverables; and reinforcing the university’s branding, working with all units across Texas A&M University at Qatar to develop, manage, and ensure brand and visual standards in all printed and digital media, as well as promotional items and giveaways.

    Required Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of related experience in graphic design, marketing, or art / creative direction
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Knowledge of project management from conception to delivery in a timely manner and on budget
  • Working knowledge of print processing equipment and software as well as design
  • Proficiency or mastery of related applications, including Adobe CreativeSuite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Macromedia Dreamweaver Flash, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and customer-service skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, a "can do" attitude and mental agility to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Master’s degree in graphic design
  • Experience in brand implementation and maintenance as well as making supporting communications-related product recommendations
  • Responsibilities :

  • Designs, prints, and produces promotional materials and collateral in a variety of media including traditional print, electronic, social, and multimedia for a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Works with printing companies and related vendors to deliver high quality, cost-effective solutions within branding requirements
  • Provides cohesive creative direction and messaging in all projects and deliverables to integrate, align, and reinforce division and university branding across all media in collaboration with Marketing and Communications staff
  • Works with appropriate personnel in the office and across campus to create engaging artwork, photography, and other multimedia components to enhance the strategic goals of Texas A&M at Qatar, and website components, along with any videos produced
  • Responsible for managing the overall direction and quality of all visual media, leading development of related concepts and creative strategies, and ensuring consistency with brand and communication goals
  • Develops, organizes, implements, and oversees departmental graphic and visual design activities, programs, policies, and procedures
  • Investigates complaints and resolves problems regarding graphic and visual design activities
  • Reviews, recommends, and implements policy changes and initiates process changes for graphic and visual design activities
  • Provides input for graphic and visual designs annual budgets
  • Directs the preparation of graphic and visual design reports for administration
  • Interfaces with external designers and creative services vendors on behalf of internal university clients to ensure expectations for quality, budget, and timelines are met
  • Tracks and follows up on invoicing and payment processing to ensure invoices match approved quotations and job specifications
  • Serves as a liaison, resource, and mentor to the branch campus units and as an advocate within the larger Texas A&M University design community to ensure effective representation and implementation of the campus’s branding initiatives and overall communication strategy
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of a student intern
  • Coordinates and assigns projects, set priorities, and tracks completion
  • Performs other duties as assigned
