As our new Senior Mechanical engineer-HVAC you will be part of Engineering Department.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be :
Provides engineering support and acts as main focal point and highest technical authority for all Pressure Vessels, storage tank, design engineering, detail design, AutoCAD Design, Engineering design.
Understanding of ASME, pressure vessel, and relevant / applicable API Code / Recommended Practices related to Company’s upstream (offshore platforms and onshore plant) and downstream facilities.
In charge of conceptual, FEED, detail design and engineering of vessels, storage tank, Reboilers, air coolers, pressure vessel piping, valves and mechanical equipment for modifications / projects related to Company’s upstream (offshore platforms and onshore plant) and downstream facilities.
Manages and controls all piping and mechanical equipment engineering activities related to assigned modifications projects for their timely completion and within approved budget allocation.
Reviews and prepares scope of work of any engineering work related to vessels, storage tank, Reboilers, air coolers, pressure vessel piping, Valves and Mechanical Equipment.
Reviews deliverables and supervises the FEED / Engineering Consultant’s work for all studies, modification and, engineering activities ·
Prepares / reviews technical specifications for procurement of materials and equipment. Review and approve subcontractor design work (foundations, coatings, etc.
Study RFQ’s and contract specifications
Oversee the detail engineering work of draft-persons. Participate on technical design / review / safety meeting.
Carries-out feasibility studies and prepares / reviews modification proposals. This includes setting parameters for plant simulations, reviewing and approving red-lined mark-ups of PFDs, PIDs, C&Es, logic diagrams, data sheets and other process deliverables for all plant modifications from engineering contractors.
Ensures compliance with QHSE standards and alignment with corporate policies and strategies.
Reviews material requisitions, vendor selections, technical bids and approves or makes recommendation to management for approval, as per the Document Distribution Matrix (DDM).
Reviews vendors / subcontractor(s) drawings, strength calculations, and related documentation to ensure the Piping and mechanical equipment engineering aspects meet the required specifications.
Comments on and / or approves the relevant documents and follows-up with Engineering Contractors to ensure the comments are incorporated into the related documentations.
Participates in site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and provides installation and commissioning support as required.
Coordinates with QC / AI team and site fabrication / construction teams to provide specialist engineering support in Tank / Piping / Valves related matters.
Participates in costing and preparation of budgets for Tank / Piping / Valve engineering or related projects.
Familiar with ASME Section VIII code and designing shop and field-erected pressure vessels.
Have been involved in the design of API 620 tanks. Have an understanding of field construction sequence of erection and techniques.
Have estimating understanding of large API vessels.
Working knowledge of welding specifications.
The Engineer should have adequate software knowledge to perform Tank mechanical / structural adequacy and strength calculation checks for fixed roof above ground tanks for Company’s modification projects.
Proficiency with Tank Design software is mandatory.
Participates in Design Reviews, 3D Model reviews, PID reviews, Constructability Reviews, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and HAZOP’s.
Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by not taking on any tasks(s) that are perceived to be unsafe.
Reports all incidents or near misses to supervisor / manager or a QHSE representative.
Participates in on-the-job training of assigned Qatari developees and summer trainees, follows up their progress and makes recommendations on how to support their learning and progression.

B.Sc / B. Tech degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
10 years of experience in design and development of capital projects with 5 years in the oil and gas industry at senior level preferably working with client side.
