DohaAbout Your JobIn this position as Material Logistics Manager, you will be responsible to effectively manage technical stores related logistics activities so as to provide continuous support to Technical Department whilst ensuring all regulatory requirements, local and international laws are adhered to at all times.
You will manage Freight contracts and monitor the service providers performance in relation to their contractual obligations, KPI's and SLA's as well as local logistics contracts both inside and outside the airport.
Your accountabilities will include the following but not be limited to : OperationalAccording to the fleet expansion, plan for future needs relating to Storage area, Manpower, Training, System supports, Budgeting, Policy changes and any other requirement found suitable.
Control and manage entire Technical Stores Logistics activities relating to spares handling, storage condition, packaging, scrap disposal, data integrity, health and safety, transportation.
Verify activities accomplished on regular basis such as dissemination of daily status report on inbound / outbound shipments, critical / AOG shipments, transmittal of required documents to related sections, review of Quarantined, data entry, documentation and vehicle movements.
Ensure Staff are aware of priority and act accordingly during AOG.Stakeholder ManagementProvide support to numerous internal departments : including but not limited to : Supply chain, Engineering, Line and Base Maintenance and workshops.
Responsible to ensure both contracted operators and own team are in compliance with Qatar Airways (QA, Finance, Audit), Civil Aviation Authorities (QCAA / FAR / EASA / IATA / OEM) and other government agencies rules, regulations and laws.
Manage professional relations with external agencies such as carriers, freight forwarder, clearing agents, transporters, Government authorities, security agencies and any other service providers, to ensure a smooth flow of receiving and dispatch activities.
Work in close liaison with Stores Manager on all stores / logistics related activities with respect to engineering, finance, quality, human resource, training, health and safety in compliance with regulatory authority requirements.
With Stores Manager, also synchronize tasks such as facility setup, auditing, budgeting to facilitate optimum Supply Chain Management results.
In connection with inbound / outbound shipments, oversee relationship with Purchasing and Repair teams, Stores Inspectors, forwarders, clearing agents, transporters, Insurance, security agencies, Customs, Ministry of Environment and Customs clearance team.
Coordinate with IT department to have required level of system support to logistics activities.Additional ResponsibilitiesEndeavour and attain best industrial practices relating to Quality, Health and Safety, Security and efficiency.
Advise immediate changes, if required, to the existing work practices to have the best 24x7 support to engineering maintenance at right time and place.
Have progressive relationship with maintenance managers to improve logistics approach and support to engineering and maintenance activities.
About YouYou will hold a Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, and / or Engineering or the equivalent. A Post Graduate in Science or Engineering (Preferably Industrial Engineering) or Business Administration or Logistics with emphasis in Supply Chain Management is desirable.
You will have 7 years of relevant experience within the airlines technical, supply chain department or Logistics role. You should be capable to handle inbound / outbound consignments which are by nature- high valued, critical, huge volume and numbered- being received by air and sea route.
You should have good knowledge and exposure of computerized airlines inventory management system with wide knowledge of civil aviation regulations relating to aircraft spares storage and handling.
You should be well versed in budgeting, auditing, and manpower handling.
