Purpose & Accountabilities :

The Civil QA / QC Inspector in Pearl plays a key role in the journey towards Plant Reliability & Integrity on site. Incumbent is responsible for civil Integrity assurance and provides technical guidance to Civil Discipline Engineers in Maintenance, Turnaround and Project Team.

This is delivered through provision of inspection and technical assurance services for civil assets and infrastructure in the operating units and production platforms by onstream condition monitoring, shutdown inspections and PM / CM actions all in accordance site procedures, codes / standards and inspection / maintenance strategy.

Main role will be focusing on technical assurance for Coating / Insulation scope. Deliverables are quality works achieved through good QA / QC and established best practices.

The Pearl facility consists of the onshore Plant and the offshore facilities which provide the feed gas (Pearl 1 & 2). Overall the plant processes 260K bbls per day of condensate and special GTL products.

The Pearl Installation (both onshore as well as offshore) is a joint venture between Shell and QP and is considered one of Shell’s flagship installations.

Dimensions :

  • Support integrity of the on-site civil equipment : provide technical support on civil related assets and infrastructure to operation, maintenance and projects to achieve flawless operation.
  • Support and provide input to the area maintenance teams with technical advice
  • Provide support for Projects and Turnarounds Civil activities.
  • Take the lead to be champion onsite in driving and sharing best practices for CUI / Fabric maintenance campaign to achieve process safety & plant reliability.
  • Support and provide input to Mission Critical Tactic, MCT 3 (War on Leaks)
  • Perform the TA-3 role as stipulated within the DEP, IG Technical Authority Manual and the DCAF Standard.
  • Ensuring integrity assurance activities are managed in GSAP and i-WIMS for planned inspection schedules.
  • Ensures plant integrity through implementation of new / rationalised Civil strategies.
  • Ensure collaborative workings amongst civil team & promote cross boundary relationship across working departments.
  • Champion HSSE - process safety, life-saving rules and intervene & question in an appropriate manner.
  • Exhibit teamwork and collaborative leadership skills consistent with Pearl GTL vision Working together to become the best .
  • Perform in line with the cascaded site targets for Safety, Reliability and Cost
  • Provide support and input to yearly IAP plan for maintenance budget for the site production units.
  • Act as site Authorised Excavation Engineer (AEE) and provide guidance on excavation activities under Shell HSSE Control Framework.
  • Additional Information : Position description Key Challenges :

  • Lead in technical assurance for fabric maintenance campaign onshore and offshore especially related to corrosion protection against CUI.
  • Support technical assurance for civil infrastructural assets both onshore plant units and offshore platforms. Use of Shell RBI to optimise Inspection intervals.
  • Support technical assurance for large numbers of process equipment, stacks and heaters with refractory lining
  • Support tactics for improved cost-efficiencies whilst being conscientious of site HSSE and Reliability performance
  • Skills & Requirements :

    A strong candidate is sought with leadership, strengths in delivery, collaboration and ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment.

    Education / knowledge : Candidate with a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with minimum of 5 years of experience in the Petrochemical industry for onshore / offshore civil assets and has obtained CSO accreditation of technical perform the authority to TA-

    3 role or demonstrable competences to reach such level.

    Candidate who has obtained competencies certification in coating (e.g. NACE, preferably NACE-2 or higher) and insulation (e.

    g CINI) with experience in plant rejuvenation campaign on CUI will be considered an advantage. In addition knowledge of non-

    metallic construction materials (e.g. GRP / GRE, PVC, etc) for piping and liners is considered an advantage.

    Fluency in both written and verbal English is required.
