The role : We are looking for an Executive to work for a range of clients in our Middle East headquarters in DohaYou will have a strong understanding of public relations, communications, or marketing, and be able to work with local and international mediaAs a digital native, you will be familiar with the latest digital trends and possess the ability to develop and execute social media strategiesYou will possess first-class English language writing skills, and will bring a unique set of experiences and a well-developed point of view to our diverse communications teamKey responsibilities : Monitoring domestic and international media, social media, and broader client activities for analysis, story mining and content developmentHelping to identify and develop story lines and angles related to Qatar, and the wider regionMapping and researching stakeholders, and providing analysis for clientsDeveloping and maintaining media and stakeholder databases for clientsDrafting a range of materials including press releases, memos, client reports, social media and website contentSupporting and, where necessary, coordinating production teams and photographersResponding quickly and accurately to client requestsHelping to organise and coordinate events, press conferences, photo calls, and political or media contact programsContributing to the wider marketing activities of our Middle East headquarters and suggesting new areas of potential businessUndertaking ad-hoc research to support new business proposals and pitchesRequirements : Qualifications, skills and competencies : You must : Have first-class English skills including the ability to produce client-ready copyHave Strong comprehension for communications work with an interest in daily news and experience with contacts in the mediaHave a solid understanding of digital media, including experience working with popular social media platformsHave strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage your own workloadHave the ability to conduct comprehensive analysis of information tied to tight deadlines ensuring accuracy and relevanceHave the ability to communicate confidently with Portland staff, clients and other stakeholdersBe logical, quick and flexible in the appraisal of problemsBe able to present findings clearly and accuratelyBe proficient in the use of database and internet tools, spreadsheets, word processing, social monitoring toolsBe comfortable operating in an international communications environmentBe able to work with and communicate effectively across the agencyBe able to take direction and report progress on your work with othersBe able to manage projects independently, with limited management direction, as requiredHave a bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, political science or international affairsHave at least 12 - 18 months of work experience or an internship within a communications or political environmentHave knowledge and enthusiasm about media, politics, and international affairsDesirable : Whilst fluency in Arabic would be highly regarded, it is not requiredOther information : What we offer in returnWe are committed to employee development and have an open doors culture where you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced people in the business.
