Develop, implement and maintain the Safety Management System.
Develop and maintain the Emergency Response and Contingency Plan for the Airline in coordination with all associated agencies.
Develop procedure to address the Airline’s safety issues with Aviation Authorities and ATC agencies.
Develop, refine and implement procedures for all safety functions within the Airline including Safety reporting, Flight Data processing, Safety documentation and safety information dissemination. Operational
Focal person to manage the Safety Management System in coordination with SMQS Responsible for :
To facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and management.
Monitor the implementation for risk mitigation actions.
Provide periodic reports on safety performance.
Ensure maintenance of safety management documentation.
Ensure that safety management training meets acceptable standard and applied across all company personnel.
Provide advice on safety matters.
Ensure occurrence investigations and follow up actions.
To conduct safety Audits ad surveys to identify safety issues.
Manage risk evaluation of all Audit finding on QE, develop and maintain QE Risk Register.
Maintain the Aviation Quality Database (AQD) for QE event and occurrence reports and prepare monthly Safety performance report.
Develop Emergency Response Plan and arrange Emergency Response exercise for QE on a regular basis.
Establish and manage the Occurrence reporting system to meet regulatory expectations.
Provide feedback to the on status of reported hazards, mitigating actions and their effectiveness.
Ensure by Auditing and follow up that the organizations has a documented procedure for hazard ident reporting, risk assessment, mitigating action development and identified risks.
Manage SMS to ensure that an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is properly established, implemented and maintained.
Ensure that the Mandatory Occurrences are reported to the regulator as per the requirements.
Encourage all QE to report freely of any safety related hazards and occurrences by communicating to all.
To coordinate all investigations in coordination with functional departments to identify the root cause and take suitable mitigation actions.
To convene and participate for the Safety Review Board meetings for safety performance measurement.
Coordinate, produce & disseminate flight safety-related information company wide.
Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department Management & Leadership
Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.

Coordinate with designated section key safety personnel (Safety Officers) among the group their assigned duties, conduct regular meetings, and raise minutes.
About You : Qualifications : Essential
Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level .
Or, Holder of ATPL pilots Licence / ICAO Type II Engineer License with at least one aircraft type rating. Preferred
Previous experience in managing the Safety Management System for a large commercial Airline.
Relevant higher qualifications. Previous Experience : Essential
Minimum 8 years relevant experience. Preferred
Extensive Operational / maintenance experience and professional qualifications in Aviation. This would include knowledge and understanding of Aviation Safety Programs / Standards and operating practices.
Previous experience with Flight Data monitoring function.
Previous experience with occurrence investigations.
Previous experience with Emergency Response Planning of an international Airline system. Job Specific Skills : Essential
Working knowledge of Aviation regulatory framework
Command of English language, and good communication skills, both written and verbal
Good knowledge of aircraft maintenance and operations standards and practices.
Good understanding of the concepts and requirements of SMS, Quality Assurance and Audits
Managerial skills Ability to delegate work, set clear directions and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
