We are looking for a full-time IT Manager for one of our projects in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible and accountable to the Director of Operations, for the Management of departmental priorities and delivery of IT Operations and operational responsibilities, as well as delivery of key IT operation services related to the project IT Infrastructure and Applications areas.
In addition to establishment and execution of strategy and vision for the IT Operations department and maintenance and continual improvement of operational standards (performance).
This position is responsible managing daily activities and implementation of strategies for IT services providing and sustaining, towards a group of facilities managed by different operators in different fields of services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the development
Plan, direct, and manage the daily operations / activities for the Operations team, including :
Scheduling and management of planned maintenance activities pertaining to key IT Services, Systems, and Applications Running regular checks on network and data security, Conducting regular system audits.
Management of the physical Datacenters including space, power and cooling usage, security, the installation of new hardware, hardware outages, and Data Center asset management
Overviewing the available hardware from active and passive components, trouble shooting infrastructure, structural cabling and identifying the problems and implementing the necessary solution.
Monitoring of equipment and services to ensure continuity of service and maintain appropriate levels of availability
Maintain records of equipment and service performance, to prepare monthly performance reports, including metrics related to Uptime, Change Management and Release Management
Overseeing and determining timeframes for Facilities operators IT requirements including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
Attending Operators complaints and implementing trouble shooting and solution.
Daily support that exceeds the expectations of customers (Facilities Operators).
Collaborating with local and global stakeholders in the design of IT Operations solutions to meet business challenges and requirements
Coordinate Manage and hold accountable the key vendors involved in the delivery of IT technology for necessary action, intervention or back up as well as defects liability and warranties control and management.
Identify any procurement requirement related to the department and capable of identifying the proper suppliers and do necessary technical and economical evaluation.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies, and establish the strategic direction / vision for the IT Operations department Identifying and advising on requirements to improve and update software and systems
Identify opportunities to optimize return on investment, efficiency, reliability, and simplicity of systems and services
Establish, maintain and enforce department standards, policies and procedures
Provide leadership, guidance, and policy direction for IT Operations
Participate in the development of budgets, forecasts and other strategic planning activities
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES :
Demonstrate the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment.
Communicate complex issues in both oral and written form in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
Empower associates of the IT Operations team to their role and accountabilities for their performance and exceed expectations of their role.
Designing training programs and workshops for staff.
Previous experience as a Network Administrator, Systems Administrator and / or Telecom Specialist is preferred
Previous experience in a multi-location, culture, nature of operations (commercial, Hotels, theme parks, Malls ) is preferred
Experience with Data Center / system monitoring tools such as Nagios, HP’s Business Process Monitor, HP OpenView, NetIQ, etc Fire Wall such as Pallo Alto , Access points such as Aruba, switches Cisco,
Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) or other regulatory issues
Extensive knowledge of provider and facility contracting, products, and claims / processing systems.
Leadership skills to oversee staff, implement initiatives, and work across the project to resolve issues.
Relationship building skills.
Knowledge of marketplace.
Meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of corporate personnel and providers.
PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent degree.
Experience as a management team member in an Information Technology organization
Must possess a minimum of 10 years relevant experience as an Information Technology professional managing networks, multiple operating systems, web environments, telephony, CCTV etc
Must possess strong knowledge of methods and practices for the implementation, maintenance, and support of information systems and related technologies
Must demonstrate a proven track record of project delivery including the coordination and management of projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Must demonstrate knowledge of analysis, design and configuration of complex systems
Demonstrated experience successfully coordinating teams and multiple projects in a matrix environment is preferred
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and demonstrate leadership
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Effective English-language communications skills both written and verbal
Arabic language written communications skills is an added value
Strong researching skills, with the ability to transform findings into clear, persuasive proposal text.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and willing to work overtime to meet deadlines as needed.
Achieve problem resolutions in a record time without cracking under pressure
GCC work experience is a plus.
