Primary Objective

The Engineering Manager shall oversee the development of Engineering deliverables necessary for the development and implementation of the project and shall coordinate Engineering resources from the Doha office to ensure that the project deliverables are completed in accordance with the project schedule.

Responsibilities :

  • Development of the Engineering CTR’s and Eng Deliverable list
  • Assignment of Engineering Discipline personnel
  • Quality of the Design outputs
  • Coordination of Vendor Design documentation
  • Incorporation of Company comments into the Engineering Design
  • Control of Engineering personnel-hour consumption
  • Lead a group of discipline engineers to provide engineering support to individual projects as well as ensuring longer term continuity.
  • Setting up the engineering capability to provide engineering support and delivery.
  • Accountable for engineering deliverables and engineering execution planning support including provision of senior engineering expertise
  • Manage and communicate all performance, resource, risk, cost, quality and schedule aspects of the engineering design process for the projects.
  • Drive the delivery of effective and efficient project designs, through Elimination, Simplification, Standardisation and Automation.
  • Develop the team of discipline engineering professionals, inspiring and supporting excellence.
  • Manage discipline engineering in compliance with engineering management system and assurance processes. E.g. DCAF, Process Safety, technical integrity, change control.
  • Ensure safe design and quality of engineering deliverables
  • Quality Assurance : Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems. Monitors the closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
  • Safety : Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures. Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.
  • Job Specific Knowledge :

  • Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment
  • Must have proven track record in the Engineering Management of the modern EPC work process, including package management, workshare, and delivery systems (3D, integrated databases, etc.).
  • Must be commercially astute and understand the different approaches required to managing lump sum and reimbursable work
  • Must have strong experience in executing Pre-Feed, FEED and Detailed Design EPC projects
  • Other :

  • Good English communication skills (spoken & written)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
  • Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
  • Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
  • Industry-Specific Experience :

  • Minimum 20 years experience in Oil and Gas related Design and Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years experience in Engineering Consultancy as Engineering Manager for offshore projects in a multidiscipline Workforce.
  • Previous Middle East experience is strongly preferred
  • Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :

  • Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in any engineering discipline relevant to the industry from an accredited university
  • MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage
