POSITION SUMMARY :
This individual shall coordinate movement control support for the surface movement of cargo and personnel through the Military transportation system.
This individual will also counsel service members with respects to shipping, receiving, and in transit issues as it relates to Military and DOD Civilian Personal Property Shipments.
Must understand and have a working knowledge of Government Bill of Ladings (GBL's), Passenger Travel Regulations, and the Defense Travel Regulation (DTR).
This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager and is utilized by the Transportation Manager to assist with additional tasking when necessary.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
The Supervisor plans the work schedule, sequence of operations and distribution of work; designates workers and assigns work.
Candidates will provide movement control support for the surface movement of cargo and personnel through the U.S. military transportation system.
Responsible for receiving, validating and processing all transportation movement request (TMR) for personnel and equipment transiting, originating and or terminating in this Area of responsibility (AOR).
Coordinate unit moves and provide technical assistance as needed with respects to ASG-QA, Air Mobility Command (AMC), the Surface Deployment Distribution Command (SDDC), and the Central Receiving and Shipping Point (CRSP).
Additionally, will oversee all operations of the Commercial Travel Office. (CTO)
Ensure customs waivers are processed with accurate information and waivers are tracked daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Performs other assigned duties as outlined in the PWS and by Vectrus Management.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED :
Must be able to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs to generate daily, weekly and monthly reports (PWS). General office equipment and supplies, Computer, Cell phone, Vehicle.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. 48 hours (6 days 8 hours a day) is the standard work week.
This position requires flexibility in work hours.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Must be able to lift / push / pull 50 lbs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Driver’s license required must be able to obtain Qatari driver’s license. 3 years of supervisory experience in the military transportation field.
US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance is required.
Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of workers. Proficient in the use of integrated software such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must have working knowledge and able to use US military traffic management computer systems and software (GATES and GTN).
Must have at least three years of supervisory experience in the military transportation field equivalent to an 88N40 (Traffic Management Coordinator).
Must have knowledge of DoD HAZMAT forms and regulations.
Candidates must be familiar with Army Information Management systems for Movement to include knowledge, training (including requirements for 49 CFR, international Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, TM 38-
250, and AF MAN 24-204. Preparing Hazardous Materials for Military Air Shipments, or exemptions issued and expertise in the Army Transportation System.
Candidate must be familiar with the following regulations : AR 55-71 : Transportation of Personal Property and Related Services, Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR), Joint Travel regulations (JTR), Personal Property Consignment Instruction Guide (PPCIG), and the Defense Travel Regulation (DTR).
SUPERVISORY / BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES :
Able to react to change productively and handle essential tasks as assigned. Supervises 8 employees. Provide guidance to the CRSP as needed.
