Must be fluent in both English & Arabic.The New Media Specialist supports faculty and staff within one or more Media / Design / Broadcasting / Communication program areas by maintaining the Department’s equipment, facilities including studios / laboratories and workshops.
The role includes running, monitoring, and evaluating studio / workshop / lab that familiarizes students with the equipment, tools, and operations of the studio, labs, and workshops.
The incumbent’s scope of work includes the installation, the demonstration, maintenance, and trouble-shooting of equipment and facilities.
This is a hands-on role, which will have the Technician working closely with faculty and students with the Studios, workshops, and laboratory.
The Academic Technician sets up the studios, workshops, lab in preparation for projects / experiments.Understand control room operations to faculty within technology the instructional technology center.
Understand operational coordination and application guidance for both technical and nontechnical faculty and staff. An in-depth understanding of interactive media and instructional technology tools.
An understanding of the uses and maintenance of using video conferencing for teaching and learning.Thorough knowledge of where audio and video fit in the Blackboard environment.
Development of teaching materials and resources in conjunction with faculty.Offer courses in MAC and Tablet technology to enable faculty to become proficient on all platforms.
Work effectively as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment, cope with pressure in a positive manner while working to deadlines within a busy and demanding environment, assists in the maintenance andcataloging of teaching materials.Other duties as assigned.
