We are currently recruiting for an experienced Expressive Arts Teacher to join Early Childhood at ACS Doha starting in August 2019.
The Expressive Arts role focuses on Visual Arts as outlined in the PYP Scope and Sequence Document, emphasising the process, teaching students that the method by which they arrive at their destination, is as or more significant than the destination itself.
The Expressive Arts' teacher should be able to : Engage a student's imagination through activities such as art, dance, drama, puppetry, and music.
To plan lessons to explore their emotional range. Stimulate and support students to cultivate their abilities across all domains / disciplines, and plan open-
ended activities, fostering flexibility of the mind. Lead and support collaborative conversations with Grade Teachers and Specialist teachers.
Create natural connections between the arts and the organizing theme : How we express ourselves.
Create relevant stand-alone units of inquiry. To highlight the importance of the Arts through student-led celebrations of learning.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience : Educated to Bachelors degree or international equivalent as a minimum in the relevant subject A teaching qualification Experience teaching Arts to students within Pre K-
3 to Grade 1 Strong IT skills Experience of / willingness to integrate technology to improve teaching and learning Demonstrable positive and tolerant outlook, enthusiasm for teaching and good understanding of behaviours of the relevant age group Fluent in both verbal and written English This is a full time position based at ACS Doha International School.
