Role The General Manager is responsible for overseeing and providing day to day direction in all aspects of management of the club facilities including Fitness operations Sales and Marketing customer service and retention food and beverage accounting budgeting and human resources The General Manager will manage and continuously develop all aspects of the club s business and in conjunction with the Management Committee have a clear vision for the club s strategic direction The General manager will have responsibility for all staff Manages all aspects of the club including its activities and the relationships between the club and MTM Group Management members guests employees community government and industry Coordinates and administers the club s policies as defined by the company Develops operating policies and procedures and directs the work of all Supervisors and staff Implements and monitors the budget monitors the quality of the club s products and services and ensures maximum member and guest satisfaction Secures and protects the club s assets including facilities and equipment Duties and Responsibilities To guide and assist the Management Committee in the development of the club s short and longterm objectives as laid down in the Annual Plan To make strategic recommendations that will enable the club to realize its potential as well as securing a sound membership base To ensure all staff are working effectively together to deliver high service levels to members and guests Manage all facets of the business to promote sales fitness and gym operations Enhancing profitability by organizing and delivering an appropriate range of fitness activities and programs To monitor and raise the quality of the club s products and services and ensure maximum value of services to members and or customers To advise on coordinate and administer the club s policies as agreed by the Management Committee To develop operating policies and procedures and delegate goals to Sales and Fitness Supervisors Advertising and promoting the club to increase usage which may include commissioning and considering market research Develop and implement membership packages to attract new members and retain existing members Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place and adhered to Maintaining high levels of customer care often with a focus on avoiding loss of existing users Recruit induct review train monitor and manage staff including the production of staffing and succession plans for all aspects of the club s operations Produce management reports relating to all Fitness and nonFitness income Membership utilization foot fall and the like Dealing with enquiries complaints and emergencies Oversee the condition of the Club and Premises to ensure that they are kept in a satisfactory condition Controlling all expenditure in accordance with approved budget expenditure profiles Overseeing promotional activities aimed at increasing gym membership
