QNB Group, the largest Financial Institution in the Middle East and Africa are looking to hire a Financial Officer - Asset Management (Qatari National), to meet the expansion needs of our office in QNB - Qatar / / Doha.

Job Summary :

The incumbent will report to the Financial Advisor and will assist him / her in the provision of financial advice and specialist investment-

related expertise in support of all members of the bank (most especially to those who are operating in a client-facing and / or business development role).

The incumbent will work closely with colleagues in the sales and product development functions as well as Investment Strategy, with the express purpose of ensuring that clients’ needs are properly and appropriately met at all times.

In particular, the incumbent will help to monitor AWM’s promotion of all investment products (Open-source products as well as QNB’s own) and how this activity compares with similar activities conducted by competitor institutions.

He / she will help to build and maintain a body of market intelligence’ which will facilitate the constructive and effective evaluation of all types of investment products and services, with the aim of ensuring that AWM is well-

placed to take advantage of the latest market trends and opportunities.

The Financial Officer will assist the Financial Advisor to be a bridge’ between the client-facing function and the research function, thereby playing a most important role in aligning the two.

The Financial Officer will support the Financial Advisor in monitoring the extent to which the products and services being offered are in alignment with clients’ needs.

  • He / she will help to generate investment ideas and will work closely with AWM colleagues to develop investment products and services which are ideally suited to particular clients’ requirements.
  • Job Responsibilities :

    Support the identification of new business opportunities re : the segmentation of clients and products, across all distribution channels.

    Work with the Product Management unit to arrive at appropriate pricing structures / policies.

    Develop a comprehensive understanding of the investment and funds management industry, focusing on mutual funds, structured products and portfolio management.

    Participate in regular business development discussions to review performance, to make product-related recommendations and to address any concerns.

    Contribute to the attainment of AWM’s objectives, as measured by established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

    Participate actively in client meetings and discussions (in the role of Financial Officer’) where required by RMs / Business Developers, most especially with those in Private Banking, Retail and Asset Management.

    Assess clients’ investment needs and help to propose / recommend investment solutions directly to them.

    Strive to be a client-orientated business developer, and not merely’ the product expert’.

    Be an important Point of Contact’ for the Product Management staff, with responsibility for helping to interpret, refine, consolidate and communicate client needs.

    Help to prepare marketing material, pitch books, RFP’s etc.

    Maintain efficient and close relationships with the principal investment-related Points-of-Contact’ in all branches, subsidiaries and affiliates in order to maximise the potential of all distribution channels.

    Participate in the investment product development process.

    Develop an understanding of economic fundamentals’ as well as an ability to analyse their impact on financial markets.

    Job Requirements : University graduate.

    University graduate.

    3 years’ relevant experience is a requirement.
